What We Offer
The SVdP Food Pantry is blessed with a friendly team of volunteers who offer a bounty of nutritious food to the 600 families who visit each month. These families represent almost 1,900 individuals who count on the pantry for milk, meat, fresh fruit & vegetables, bakery goods, and shelf stable items such as cereal, pasta, tuna fish, and peanut butter. We also provide necessary household items such as toilet paper and laundry detergent.
In addition to the food our volunteers pick up almost daily from area grocery stores, the pantry relies on the dry goods and perishable items we purchase from the Maryland Food Bank as well as the generosity of area farmers and community organizations who conduct food drives.
How it Works
Any resident of Talbot County may visit the Food Pantry up to three times a month and it is easy to register. After arriving by car, a volunteer will request proof of residence (documentation with photo and Talbot County address)*. We do not ask any questions about employment, household income, personal circumstances or U.S. citizenship. A bilingual (Spanish/English) translator is always available.
*proof of residence examples: current driver’s license, or a combination of photo I.D., passport AND proof of Talbot County residence (utility bill, lease agreement, government-issued correspondence, etc.)

Our volunteers work at the pantry because they understand rising costs make it difficult to feed a family; they are grateful for the opportunity to help a fellow neighbor; and genuinely enjoy doing the work the Lord has asked of them. We look forward to serving you.
